Please join us on June 11 @ 7 PM at Fremont Elementary School Auditorium for a wonderfully entertaining and informative slide show presentation and surprise finale by veteran Historic Designer and Consultant "Bungalow Kev".
Kevin Doherty's show entitled "In the Land of the Bungalow" uncovers the origins of the bungalow in the remote hills high above the East Indian plains and traces its transmigration from the subcontinent to Europe and America where it flourished in the opening decades of the 20th century.
Special emphasis will be placed on the California connection from both an architectural and sociological perspective. The bungalow's relationship to the Arts and Crafts movement will be explored and enriched with brief biographies of key architects and Arts and Crafts personalities. Helpful hints on interior and exterior design will send participants away with both practical ideas for home improvement and a greater appreciation for their own homes and neighborhood.
