Wrecking crew coming to BHCA website

Next week, Jun 30 - Jul 6, I am planning to roll out some updates/upgrades to the BHCA website. The upgrade will fix some problems we've been having. Esp problems like double logins, email fixes, some security fixes, and rich text editor used for creating posts. Many of the upgrades will not be very visible, but might mean the site will be offline for a period of time during the upgrade. Soon after, and if things go exceptionally well, I'll also give the site a facelift.

The image is a snapshot of website statistics for MyBelmontHeights.org. I periodically update it, and occasionally update the explanation as well. I find it interesting to view and thought others would find it interesting as well. Following is an explanation of the numbers used in the graph.

Have you noticed? Website Notifications are now being sent every three days instead of every 1/2hr. This was done because www.MyBelmontHeights.org site activity has increased so much that we felt people were being burdened with too many emails from the site. We hope you like the change. We could make it longer or shorter, depending on feedback.

Do you receive periodic notifications from the website? Do you know how to change you notify settings? Notify settings, along with a lot of other cool features, are located under My Account. Please click the My Notify Settings under the my account menu to change your settings. You must be logged in to the site for this menu item to appear.

Some members have not been receiving notification emails from our server. We periodically send out email such as reminders, content notifications, and other news. However some ISP's are banning email from our server. AOL seems to be the worst culprit. In an effort to resolve this please add the following emails to your address book:

webmaster@MyBelmontHeights.org
bhca@MyBelmontHeights.org

Also, please check your "spam" folder for any email from us. And make sure to mark it as "not spam."

Please email webmaster@MyBelmontHeights.org once you've done this. I'd like to track the results.

Website re-organization ideas

This is my spot where I'll think publicly about our website. It's been live for close to six months now, and website traffic has consistently grown. We're up from an average of 6 visits per day in OCT 2005, to 29 unique visitors per day on average! Not bad for a neighborhood of 1700.

Notification settings changed - current users will now be notified of new content

This means you'll now be notified everytime new content or new comments are posted to www.myBelmontHeights.org.

Your settings can be changed to receive the full posting in the email as well as other settings. To view or change your settings, please do the following

MyBelmontHeights.org allows you to remain logged in for up to a week even after you close your browser (and even after you turn off your computer).

Forums fixed!

There was a problem with the forums setup... it has been corrected and the forums are now working. Yay!
