My neighbour just informed me that 3 of the lovely trees in the plaza outside
the Belmont Brewing Company restaurant have been cut down to the stumps. Who
allowed this to happen ? It must have been done by the City or with City

The curb side trees on our block were trimmed on Thursday. The City's contractors did a spectacular job in trimming the trees and cleaning up the debris! The neighbors on our block worked hard with the city to ensure the trees maintained their beautiful demeanor and spreading canopy.

Subject: Tree Removal at 502 Loma

City staff posted notices 8/11/06 on the doors of neighbors within 300 feet of the above tree that it will be removed if a no written appeals are filed within 10 working days. Rumor on the street is the tree will be removed on August 14, 2006.

The sidewalks and driveways on my block have deteriorated terribly over the years.  Last week a private contractor hired by the City came out and liberally sprayed orange and white paint.  The white indicates what portion of the sidewalk needs to be replaced and orange indicates which driveways (from the street to the sidewalk) need to be replaced.  We have orange and white in front of our house.  Today the contractor came and left an Important Notice on residents' doorknobs explaining the entire procedure.
