When the Red Car Greenbelt was initially being developed several years ago it was a huge improvement for the community which took a vacant lot and turned it into a great green space with native plants and walking paths that improved the use of the area and the lives of those living in the community. An important part of this project that I fought to get funding for was the inclusion of public art in the park to highlight its beauty, and enjoyment for residents. Now I want to make sure we are continuing to see investment in this park.
On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 5:00 PM I will be hosting a virtual Third District Community Meeting to discuss the addition of art to this public space. This meeting will be held over Zoom and will include a presentation from Parks, Recreation, and Marine Planning and Partnership Manager, Meredith Reynolds and we are lucky enough to also have the artist Katherine England joining the community discussion.
I encourage you to attend if you would like to learn more and provide your input as we look forward to the addition of art in this fantastic community park.
