BHCA Community Meeting - Long Beach Economic Development Department

This month, we're talking business — the kind that shapes neighborhoods and helps our local entrepreneurs thrive.

Our special guest is Julian Cernuda, Business Development Bureau Manager at the Long Beach Economic Development Department. Their mission? "Building America’s Next Great International City” — and making sure workers, investors, and entrepreneurs all have a fair shot at success. Julian will share updates on the city’s economic strategy, programs to support local businesses, and how Belmont Heights fits into the bigger picture. (Spoiler alert: we’re charming and economically interesting!)

Also joining us with our "Neighbors helping Neighbors" program: Deanny Lungu, longtime Belmont Heights resident and local business-owner, who will demystify the sometimes-scary-sounding world of Estate Planning. No legal jargon, just smart tips on how to plan ahead and protect what matters — delivered with the warmth only a Heights neighbor can bring.
