Did you know Ubuntu is a Swahili word meaning "I am because we are." Well if you don't know, now you know! Located near the Marine Stadium, Ubuntu features a large area for outdoor dining with a dog-friendly patio. This restaurant is an excellent option for a drink and a bite to eat while visiting the Colorado lagoon. They're serving a breakfast and lunch menu (brunch on weekends) and a "Sunset Hour" menu, Tuesdays to Fridays (3-7 pm).

Supporting our neighborhood businesses is more important than ever today. The BHCA will be giving a "Gift Card a Day" for June to one of our active members to help support and highlight small businesses in our neighborhood.
Today's winner is Jay Caffey! Ubuntu is making you happy, Jay!

Ubuntu Cafe sounds like a wonderful space that brings people together through thoughtful design and community values. I love how every detail feels intentional and welcoming. If you're building a similar atmosphere in your own restaurant, I recommend using a wooden check holder to keep the look consistent and polished. It’s a simple item, but when it matches the overall aesthetic, it shows guests that you care about every part of their visit. Small touches really do leave a lasting impression.
