Easy Does It Opens New Location
On Friday, April 12th at 12:12, Easy Does It officially reopened its doors at a new location. This significant time and date mark a continuation of the tradition started by Richard, who originally opened the store on April 12, 1997, at exactly 12:12, as a tribute to the 12 steps and the 12 traditions.
Established by Richard Waide (1950-2023), Easy Does It has been a cornerstone for individuals involved in various 12-step programs, providing essential texts, workbooks, and collateral materials for 24 different programs. Beyond the 12-step literature, the store boasts a vast selection of spiritual books and an ever-changing assortment of used books, catering to a diverse range of spiritual and recovery needs.
Following Richard’s passing, Kristie and Ken “N.” (in the spirit of anonymity) took over the business, committed to preserving its mission and community impact. With the lease ending at the original location, they relocated the store to a new spot further down Broadway. The reopening ceremony was a heartfelt tribute to Richard’s legacy and a new chapter for the beloved shop.
“We are all about facilitating sobriety for anyone who wants it,” said Kristie. “We are happy to serve the community and carry on Richard’s legacy.”
The new location carries a variety of beautiful gifts, including candles, cards, medallions, signs, and jewelry, all designed to celebrate sobriety. It also hosts periodic book readings and other events. Kristie and Ken are also happy to help anyone who is looking for a meeting find one that is convenient.
Easy Does It remains dedicated to serving the 12-step community, offering a welcoming space filled with resources and support for those on their recovery journey.
