Are you selling or buying items online via sites like Facebook Marketplace or NextDoor? Safety is a priority when meeting with strangers to exchange goods. Long Beach now has safe E-Commerce Exchange Zones. There are three zones and they are located in public parking areas outside of LBPD substations. These exchange areas are open 24/7 and are equipped with security cameras; however, camera feeds may not be actively monitored at all times. The visible presence and proximity to law enforcement, combined with camera coverage, help provide a safe space for e-commerce exchanges.
These zones are intended for in-person exchanges that originate from online platforms. Typical exchanges include items such as electronics, household goods, tools, sporting equipment, and collectibles. All transactions must involve legal items only; prohibited or illegal items, including drugs, weapons, or stolen property, are not permitted.
The nearest exchange zone for Belmont Heights residents is the LBPD East Division station located at 3800 East Willow Street.
